API Key Rate Limit & Errors
Note: Moonriver (MOVR) on Kusama is a companion network to Moonbeam and provides a permanently incentivized canary network. New code ships to Moonriver first, where it can be tested and verified under real economic conditions. Once proven, the same code ships to Moonbeam on Polkadot.
The Moonscan Developer APIs provide the Moonbeam community with accessible and consistent Moonbeam data. The APIs are free for the community with a maximum rate limit of up to 5 calls per sec/IP with a valid API key.
Starting from April 15th, 2021, all developers are required to use a valid API key to access the API services provided by Moonscan.
During the enforcement of the API key requirement, developers will expect the return errors listed, where an API key is not in use or exceeding the rate limit.
- The 5 calls per sec/IP rate limit is exceeded:

- An API request with a blank API Key or the default "YourApiKeyToken":

Status: 1 - Ok , 0 - Not ok
